The Creole for Housing and Health in Haiti competition will eventually lead to build five housing units in St. Marc, Haiti – a coastal town approximately 100 km north of the Haitian capital Port-au-Prince. The uniqueness of this project is the intended key ingredient of the entire process from design, construction through to habitation is 'health'.
The competition is organized by Kay e Sante nan Ayiti and ARCHIVE. The jury panel includes Kenneth Yeang, Zaha Hadid and many other notable architects and professionals from other disciplines.

The design and construction of the housing units should make use of common sense principles which seek to minimize the transmission of Tuberculosis. The competition may raise awareness of housing’s ability to change the way in which society deals with global health. We like to imagine that all those involved in the project will walk away with a newfound understanding of the interconnected relationship between housing and health.

The competition is open to team of multi-disciplinary people (6 persons in one team maximum) or to individuals, registration is open online until October 18th 2010.
Submission deadline: November 12, 2010.
There is a registration fee payable online via PayPal or check,
